The Kansas City Zoo is an amazing place for everyone! The zoo has 1,300 different animals in many different habitats and exhibits. It started in 1909 with only four lions and a few other animals.
The Kansas City Zoo was named America’s best zoo in 2008. They have chimpanzees, elephants, leopards, hippos, and lions. Visitors can use The Zebra Tram, Zoo Train Ride, or Lake Nakuru Boat Ride to get around the zoo.

2. KANSAS CITY ROYALS
The MLB’s Kansas City Royals are one of the hottest tickets in town. With a pair of World Series titles in 1985 and 2015 and four American League Pennants, the Blue Crew has fielded numerous Hall of Famers including George Brett, Hal McRae, Mike Sweeney, Bret Saberhagen, Frank White, and Amos Otis. Home games are at the 40,000-seat Kauffman Stadium.

3. THE NELSON-ATKINS MUSEUM OF ART
The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art was founded in 1933. With a world-renowned permanent collection including more than 35,000 works spanning a variety of mediums, the Nelson-Atkins features pieces from eras throughout history and cultures across the globe. In addition to a highly-prized European painting collection, the museum also houses distinguished assemblages of Asian, American, and Native American art.
Outside on the Museum’s vast lawn, the Donald J. Hall Sculpture Park includes dozens of exquisite sculptures from Auguste Rodin, George Segal, and the famous Shuttlecocks by Claes Oldenburg and Coosje van Bruggen. 4. LEGOLAND DISCOVERY CENTER KANSAS CITY
Enter a world of creativity! Legoland is an indoor entertainment facility for families. They have 12 attractions such as the Train Station Adventure, Lego 4D Cinema, Meet Your Favorite Lego Characters, and more!
Legoland is open from 10 AM to 5 PM Thursdays-Mondays, but last admission is 3 PM. Keep in mind, adults must have a child to enter, but they do offer adult only nights throughout the year. 5. TOM’S TOWN DISTILLING
Tom’s Town Distilling was founded by two Kansas City natives, David Epstein and Steve Revare. The distillery is named after Tom Pendergast, a corrupt politician that was active from 1910- 1936. Pendergast controlled the city council and disregarded the Prohibition when it became law.
